Hello, my name is Sarah. I run the front office here at Essence of Dentistry. I grew up here so I am a true Seattle girl. I went to Eastern Washington University on a full ride soccer scholarship where I earned my degree in Exercise Physiology. I then went on to play soccer professionally for two years. I have been working in dentistry for three years, and I’m happy to be a part our wonderful team. When I am not at the office, you would most likely find me training for my half Ironman or running in the mountains of Issaquah for another trail race. I enjoy cooking, helping people, listening to sports radio and being outside as much as I can. Of course, I cannot forget my favorite sports team, The Seahawks!

Registered Dental Hygienist

My name is Kazi, and I was born on the Japanese island of Hokkaido near the city of Sapporo. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Japanese literature from Fuji Women's College, and I attended Marian College in Indiana for one school year through a foreign study program. I worked in IT in Japan after graduating from college but moved to Seattle (my husband's home town) in 2004. I studied medical assisting at Seattle Vocational Institute and worked in Redmond as a MA. After staying home for several years to raise our two sons, I studied at Lake Washington Institute of Technology in order to earn my license as a Registered Dental Hygienist.

The aspect of dental hygiene that I find most rewarding is educating patients in steps to improve and maintain oral health. Having seen some of my own relatives lose their teeth at an early age due to the lack of professional oral care, I feel it is extremely important to look after the well-being of my patients and to accommodate their needs to the best of my ability.

I enjoy gardening, playing the piano, reading, yoga, sewing and knitting. My family and I love to find opportunities to ride bicycles and to hike the Northwest trails.

Dental Assistant

I recently graduated with a biology major from the University of Washington in Seattle (go Huskies!). My interest in dentistry started when I got braces as a child and the more exposure I got with dentists, orthodontists, and oral surgeons the more inspired I was to pursue a career in the dental field. For the past two years I have volunteered for Vietnam Health Clinic, a student-led, nonprofit organization that hosts free mobile health care clinics in rural villages in Vietnam. I spent most of my time in the dental clinics observing extractions, sterilizing equipment, and educating patients. It was so rewarding to help others through that experience and I am incredibly thankful to be a part of Dr. Han’s hardworking team now, learning more about dentistry and getting to know the wonderful patients at this practice. I have lived in Kirkland my whole life and love the Washington weather and evergreen trees. My hobbies include watching movies and shows with my family, traveling, cross-stitching, and eating ice cream.

Dental Assistant

My name is Muhammad and I've been with the Essence of Dentistry as an assistant since 2016. Before that, I was actually a patient of Dr. Han's, and job-shadowed her in High School. I was intrigued at the public health and hands-on aspect of dentistry, so I jumped at the chance to work with the awesome team here and I hope to use the experience I gain to advance my dental career. As an intern, you'll find me at the front desk and filing documents, or assisting and sterilizing in the back. Outside the clinic, you can catch me hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, or messing around outdoors. I look forward to getting to know you all and it's a privilege to be a part of your care.
